Simon Capewell

I am an Emeritus Professor of Public Health, Policy, and Systems at the University of Liverpool and the Chair of the ASM Local Organising Committee 2021.

I worked in public health for decades, teaching, advising on policy, and researching the epidemiology and prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), hence studies on inequalities, tobacco, alcohol, inactivity and, crucially, poor diet. I enjoy family time, walking & gardening. I also greatly enjoy mentoring colleagues at all levels, helping them to overcome current challenges and fulfil their personal and professional potential.
