Catherine Hayes

Past President

Coordinates the overall oversight of society, chairing the SSM committee and AGM strategic leadership.

I focus primarily on developing and implementing interventions based on epidemiological research to address risk factors in preventing chronic diseases such as obesity, nutrition, and smoking across the life course and transferring this to practice via the emerging discipline of implementation science at Trinity College Dublin.

I am currently developing collaborations with clinical and epidemiological colleagues working in cancer research to bring a population health perspective focusing on the lifestyle aspects of cancer prevention.
