Glasgow 2024 LOC Co-chair
I am a Research Fellow in Public Health at the University of Glasgow. My research is centred around understanding how health can impact on work ability and conversely how work can impact on health. In particular, I focus on aspects related to health and work ability, the development, implementation and evaluation of workplace interventions, practice improvement, and health promotion.
I am currently involved in a number of projects on the development, implementation, and evaluation of new and existing workplace and non-workplace interventions that consider the physical, social, and organisational opportunities and barriers to restore functional capacity in the working-age population and allow individuals to have a healthy working life. Examples include the evaluation of a case-management intervention for employees of SMEs experiencing health problems, evaluating a sickness absence intervention, and participating in the redesign of services to treat musculoskeletal problems.
