Ellen Schwaller

Events Officer

I am an ESRC-funded PhD student in the Department of Public Health, Policy and Systems at the University of Liverpool. My work centres around understanding health inequalities. To accomplish this, I employ complex systems science methods (agent-based modelling and group model building). My current research focuses on local urban food environments and how policy changes may impact diet across the population. Prior to beginning my PhD in 2019, I completed an MSc in Geographic Data Science at the University of Liverpool. I also have over eight years of experience working as an applied researcher at the intersection of health and the built environment utilising tools such as community needs assessments, walking and food environment audits, and health impact assessments.
