Thursday 7th September: Walking tours 15:15- 16:45

Manchester Shock city: Industrial and Radical Manchester, led by Anne BeswicShock cityk (£5). This walk will highlight the birth of the Industrial Revolution, canals, mills, factories, social change, politics and revolution, Peterloo, Suffragettes, and Engels.

Northern Quarter walk (£5). We will walk (approx. 30 minutes) to the Northern Quarter where the vibrant spirit of the city thrives, combining street art, music, fashion in a land of crumbling cotton factories, sky-scraping fire-escapes, Bohemian bars, hidden spaces, cult markets, chic galleries and curry cafes.Northern-Quarter-Guide-3

Thursday 7th September: Conference dinner (18:30 for 19:00 start) The Society for Social Medicine invites you to attend the Conference Dinner and social event, an opportunity to meet and socialise with colleagues. This will be held in Harvey Nichols 2nd floor Bar & Brasserie Restaurant. Brasserie
