We are pleased to relaunch the SSM mentoring scheme, which offers mentoring for individuals at all stages of their careers within the field of social medicine and population health. All members of the society are eligible to both be mentored and to mentor others.
Mentor-mentee matching
We usually aim to match mentees with a mentor who is ahead in the career stage e.g., ECR-MCR. We ask prospective mentees to complete a short form outlining their current position and topics of interest to cover during mentoring. We then match them with an available mentor, checking agreement from both mentor and mentee before the match is confirmed.
Calling new mentors
We are currently looking for new mentors to join our scheme. We are looking for new mentors at all career stages, but particularly for post-docs and mid-career researchers. All new SSM mentors are provided with training to introduce the SSM mentoring scheme, discuss mentoring methods and practice mentoring skills.
If you are an SSM member interested to request a mentor, please complete the following form.
