The latest edition of the SSM Newsletter (Volume 5, Issue 2) is now available. This edition introduces the new SSM Mentoring Scheme together with insights and experiences from those who have been mentors and mentees (or neither) from both within the SSM membership and externally. Over in the ECR corner, there is a report from the most recent ECR ‘gig trail’ by Sarah Gibney from University College Dublin who travelled to London where she gave a talk at the MRC Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing at UCL. Also in this edition, two Consultants in Public Health, Catherine Heffernan and Thara Raj, share their experiences of the changes to Public Health England and how it has affected organisations, staff, and health. Finally, we have everything you need to know about the upcoming annual conference which will be held at Keble College, University of Oxford, from Wednesday 10th to Friday 12th of September this year.
